Program note: Des détritus sous la glace develops minimal amounts of material organized in different layers built around polar pitches or polar timbres. The new material is revealed by breaking through the previous layer of material. The instruments of the trio evolve throughout the piece, changing from a single entity into three distinct voices confronting each other. The title Des détritus sous la glace is an allusion to Debussy’s piece: Des pas sur la neige.
