Program note: Fragment de lune was written in Camp Springs, Maryland during the quarantine due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At this time, the only moment I could get some fresh air was walking around the block of my apartment building late in the evening. Every night I would look up at the Moon. Every night the Moon changed its appearance as it went through its phases or as the weather and lightning changed. This piece is my personal interpretation of these different views of the Moon.
Fragment de lune was written for Reison Kuroda.
