Program note: Leptokarya is inspired by sonic memories of the city. From breaths and whispers, a cluster slowly emerges that develops into distorted elements. The first section of the piece focuses on space and timbre, incorporating different layers of silence: silence as the absence of sound, as the absence of timbre, as the absence of register, or as the absence of texture. From this development of timbre and space, rhythm will be gradually introduced until it becomes a more preponderant element during the second section of the piece.
